American Augers

Based in West Salem, Ohio American Augers is a trend setter for innovation and industry standard through its extensive line of auger boring machines, maxi-rig directional drills, mud pump & cleaning systems, and product tooling options.

American Augers began operations in 1970, in a small rented garage outside of Wooster, Ohio, and began to produce its first product line, auger boring machines. American Augers continues to lead the way in Auger Boring Machine manufacturing, & providing equipment with an enormous range of thrust, torque, and power to meet the challenges of any environment. The significant innovation is that most of the current auger boring products offer Quik Tran technology, which is the fast return, rack & pinion system that provides up to 10,000lbs of push/pull at high speed, and provides jobsite success in the varying challenges of the worldwide climates and environmental conditions.

American Augers expanded its product offering to include maxi-rig directional drills, and to this day is leading supplier of maxi-rigs with highest amount of maximum torque and horsepower capabilities. American Augers directional drills have been on the forefront of promoting the expansion of utility and pipeline construction through product innovations such as rack & pinion carriage drives, superior structural strength, dual power possibilities, and dedicated pumps for rotary & thrust. It is this unsurpassed versatility that from continent to continent is making American Augers maxi-rig directional drills a contributor to global development.

Mud Pump and Cleaning Systems are also a valuable product offering, as American Augers recognizes the impact that drilling fluid has in promoting successful auger boring and directional drill projects, so mud equipment was designed to compliment jobs of every size, including stand-alone mud pumps that can be used to power the biggest mud motor. American Augers works closely with contractors to promote the need for these systems, and contractors have found that this mud equipment is a much needed resource when using auger boring or directional drilling equipment with pumping capacities of 25 gallons per minute or larger regardless of soil type or conditions, for contractors who typically making bores larger that are 6 ½” diameter and more than 200 feet long, when working in areas where mud disposal is expensive or restrictive, or when utilizing mud motors in rock drilling applications

Based in Loudon, Tennessee Astec Underground is a progressive manufacturer of horizontal directional drills, trenchers, mixing systems, equipment attachments and parts that benefit the worldwide utility construction industry.

Astec Undergrounds line of Horizontal Directional Drills help contractors succeed through providing increased mobility, maximum torque, horsepower, dependable operation, and overall flexibility that promotes overall performance with sacrificing productivity. Mixing equipment by Astec Underground, are designed with a modular system with a roto-molded polyethylene tank that is rust proof and easy to clean, oversized discharge valves that permit supercharging flow to prevent cavitations of the mud pumps, and compact dimensions allowing the equipment to fit on small trailers or truck decks.

Trencor

The Trencor line of high-performance rock trenchers, surface miners, road miners, and related equipment provide a broad lineup of underground construction solutions. Located in Loudon, Tennessee Trencor has more than 60 years of experience in the highly specialized trenching industry, serving the construction and oil and gas markets.

Trencor chain trenchers offer a compact design with rugged frame construction for which Trencor is known, and each model provides maximum torque in each trenching speed. Trencor manufactures the most durable, high production rocksaws in the world. The 1360RS model with 630 hp is the largest production rocksaw on the market today. Rocksaws are used for fiber optic cable installation, highway drainage projects and utility line placements in rock or under existing pavements. the Trencor Roadminer® can cut up to 16 feet wide and 6 feet deep in a single pass. A Roadminer® eliminates blasting in most cases. The cut is clean, even, and ready for further construction. Uses include certain quarry operations, road construction, building foundation work, and mass rock removal. A Roadminer® cuts wider than its tracks, therefore making multiple passes possible, which produces a vertical wall. Trencor offers two state-of-the-art industry mechanical drive wheel trenchers for utility and pipeline work. Contractors have found that in certain conditions, one wheel trencher can replace an entire fleet of backhoes, as the Trencor wheel trenchers feature extended length crawlers, fully enclosed and oil bath lubricated chain final drives, multiple drilled digging rims, and in most cases, double segmented rims. Direct mounted hydraulic hoist cylinders for optimum digging performance are standard on all models.
