The challenge faced by Custom Pipe Handlers (CPH) Inc. was to design a system
that would handle the tubulars from the supply yard to the rig crew on the floor
and back again, without human contact.
By doing so, this major source of injury could be virtually eliminated, resulting
in lower premiums and assisting the oil and drilling companies in the fulfilment
of their ‘commitment to safety’ claims.
