IHP Clamp - The ultimative tool for cost effective welding of pipes

The Danish based company, WELD-TECH, has developed an IHP – Internal Hydraulic Pipe clamp which has shown to be the most cost effective tool for alignment and adjustment of all types of pipes, in a wide range of dimensions.

Innovation

The appearance of the IHP clamp has given the operators the possibility to obtain a number of benefits, if compared to any of the alternatives available.

Flexibility

First of all any of the IHP can operate within a range of several different pipe-dimensions. The range starts at 5" and goes up to 60".

There is also a choice depending on how easy one wishes to be able to weld. The ultimative easy to operate IHP is the type called "AOB - all on board". This type is available from 18" and is battery driven. This IHP can drive by itself, without the use of reach rod and reach rod operator, and stops by itself at the end of the pipe. 80-100 weldings can be made on each battery. Spare batteries and charger comes with the "all on board", off course.

Power

The IHP is a powerful tool, indeed. Due to the hydraulic pump system one can obtain clamping force which is more than 40 times that of a pneumatic system. The power is 10 tons or 700 bar and therefore it is possible to align and adjust pipes with a wall thickness of 15 mm. The IHPs are the first choice in the construction of pipe-lines and the production of pipe-spools being either in shop or on site.

Low costs

It is possible to save a lot of operating costs by using the IHP from WELD-TECH. The cost per weld is reduced as the speed of the welding process is increased as well as the lack of need of auxiliary equipment.  

The IHPs are constructed in such a way that welding can be made along the entire circumference of the pipe - in one operation. The very low weight of the IHPs makes them easy to handle – without the use of cranes etc. The smallest IHP (Mini) weighs only 25 Kg.

The maintenance cost for the IHPs are very low.
