Recent findings of new major oil and gas reserves in Siberia and the Caspian Sea suggest that these regions might hold even more surprises for geologists and geophysicists. The Caspian region is also attracting its fair share of investments. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan is planning to spend over $250 million on exploration in the nest 10 years, while Gazprom is investing $260 million over the next 3 years on exploration of Ustyurt region in Uzbekistan.
